Balean en asalto a hermana de María Luisa Albores, titular de Segalmex
Gabriela Albores González, sister of María Luisa Albores, the current head of Seguridad Alimentaria Mexicana (Segalmex), was injured during an attempted robbery on Tuesday afternoon at the Tosepantomin cooperative in the magical town of Cuetzalan. According to police reports, around 1 PM, six men entered the cooperative demanding money from this branch that operates as a rural bank. As they were leaving, they were confronted by security guards, which led to an armed confrontation.
During the exchange of gunfire, Gabriela was shot between three and four times and was taken to a local hospital, where her condition is reported as stable. Additionally, two other individuals, Ofelio Durán and Arnulfo Márquez, were injured; Arnulfo was only grazed by a bullet and did not require hospitalization.
One of the assailants was apprehended, while the others fled the scene, leaving behind the stolen money and a weapon on the street. Tosepantomin is located in central Cuetzalan and is part of the Tosepan Titataniske Cooperative, which María Luisa Albores has advised and is known for its role in the self-organization and management of indigenous communities in the Sierra Norte of Puebla, boasting over 40,000 Nahua and Tutunakú members.
