Asesinan a regidor electo de Tultepec; fue postulado por MC

Israel Cruz Carrisoza, the elected councilor from Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) in Tultepec, was tragically assassinated on the afternoon of Saturday, August 17, during an armed attack at his business located in La Cantera neighborhood. The incident occurred when an armed man entered Cruz Carrisoza's business and opened fire on him. Emergency medical services from Civil Protection arrived at the scene, but Cruz Carrisoza was already deceased by the time they provided assistance.
Juan Zepeda, the state coordinator of Movimiento Ciudadano, issued a statement demanding justice and the immediate intervention of authorities to clarify the incident. The party also called for necessary actions to halt the climate of violence in the State of Mexico and expressed condolences, stating, “Our deepest condolences to family and friends.”
Cruz Carrisoza previously served as the Director of Civil Protection and Firefighters in two municipal administrations and was a member of the local Tortilleros Association. He ran as a candidate for first councilor in the MC slate; however, the election was won by the Morena candidate Sergio Cortés Luna. As a result, Cruz Carrisoza received a majority certificate as the eighth elected councilor for the term 2025-2027 based on proportional representation, with his substitute being Joan Manuel Vera Bravo, who will assume his position according to the law.
